On October 21, 2024, at 6 pm, Grace Farms will celebrate its ninth anniversary with a special benefit performance by a 29-musician chamber ensemble of the London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO), conducted by LPO 2023/24 Fellow Conductor Luis Castillo-Briceño. Presented at Grace Farms, the performance is the culmination of the LPO’s first United States tour in a decade and will feature a special program that explores the two organizations’ respective themes of “Architecture Moves Us” and “Moments Remembered”.
This performance represents LPO’s third collaboration with Grace Farms. A recording of an LPO quartet is featured prominently in the Design for Freedom exhibit With Every Fiber, currently on view in Grace Farms’ West Barn. The music was initially performed in London on June 12, 2022, UN World Day Against Child Labor, inside the 2022 Serpentine Pavilion—Black Chapel by Theaster Gates, a Design for Freedom Pilot Project.
