Pack up the car and head to Grace Farms this fall for unforgettable family fun! Spot colorful birds on a guided nature walk, learn how to make fresh apple butter from our pastry chef, explore the science behind fall foliage while surrounded by our nature preserve — and more!

 

 

Apple Harvest

Learn how to pick apples, care for orchards, and taste fresh apple butter made by our pastry chef.

Bird and Butterfly Walks

On select Saturdays starting in September, embark on a guided nature walk to discover birds and butterflies passing through Grace Farms during peak seasonal migration.

Living Classroom

Explore the nature preserve with our Horticulture Advisor Kimberly Kelly! Learn the science behind fall foliage in October, or embark on a biodiversity scavenger hunt in November.

Fall Foliage Walks

On select Saturdays in October and November, take a guided walk to learn how color-changing trees mitigate climate change.

Harvest Picnic

Gather for a nourishing dinner celebrating hearty and seasonal flavors, with plenty of fall-inspired activities for children to enjoy.

Family Space Night with the Connecticut Science Center

Explore the wonders of outer space through activity and craft stations facilitated by STEM educators from the Connecticut Science Center.

Open Arts Studio

Think, play, create, and spend time together experimenting with sensory-rich materials and different modes of art making.

Bunny Book Group

Hear stories from our curated collection of children’s books exploring topics related to our ongoing programs and initiative work, and to take part in an arts and crafts activity.
