The River Retreat
The River Retreat offers a self-directed way for you to pause, reflect, and encounter the Faith Initiative and its core question: what is the shape of flourishing life?
This retreat invites you to frame your reflection around the flowing shape of the River building. Complete it at your own pace, alone or with a partner, using our River Retreat booklet as your guide. The booklet includes a map of the path you’ll travel— through the site and through a set of questions—alongside quotes from a variety of religious and philosophical traditions. These questions and texts will frame a set of reflections on life—your life, at least at first, and hopefully all life by the end.
We hope this retreat inspires insights about your priorities, relationships, and visions of a life worthy of our shared humanity. We encourage you to return and experience the retreat multiple times, as a discipline of discovery, to listen for new pieces of wisdom and consider what sort of life is truly worth wanting.
