Discover the difference between solar and lunar years. Astronomer Tim Haag will lead a discussion on the calendars and how we account for the 11-day difference between a solar year and a lunar year. After the discussion, we will watch as the crescent moon and the planet Venus pair up in the sky.
Astronomy at Grace Farms encourages visitors to discover the beauty of the stars against dark skies. With 80 acres of open space located at the one of the highest elevations in New Canaan, our Astronomy programs offer incredible viewing opportunities complemented by the celestial expertise of Astronomer Tim Haag and Nature Initiative Director Mark Fowler.
Please bring your binoculars. Visibility is dependent on the weather.
