Lighting Design Evening Tour with Buro Happold

Even at night, connectivity between the River building and the surrounding preserve is ever-present.
Follow a special evening tour of the River building led by Gabe Guilliams of Buro Happold, the designer behind the building’s harmonious, energy-efficient, and Lumen Award-winning scheme, and Toshihiro Oki, Grace Farms Architecture Advisor formerly of SANAA / Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa (Pritzker Prize 2010) to discover the lightning techniques that achieve the sensation of a building without barriers, inside and out. Guilliams will also discuss challenges and opportunities, and reflect upon Philip Johnson’s lessons learned from over 70 years ago at the Glass House.
