Chef’s Palate | Global Groceries: The World of Food

Sunday, May 12, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Explore the origins of popular ingredients during this deep dive into the relationship between groceries and geography. Learn about the sometimes surprising journey your food takes before it arrives on your plate, why shopping seasonally can help create delicious dishes, and more.

Chef’s Palate, hosted by Grace Farms Founding Pastry Chef and educator Leah Jones, is a series of educational conversations designed to inspire new perspectives on everyday ingredients, groceries, and meals. Chef’s Palate encourages a broader understanding of the complex ways in which food intersects many aspects of our lives.

Jones has more than 15 years of food service and culinary experience and has been with Grace Farms since its opening in 2015. She leads recipe research and development for all baking and pastry programs. She feels strongly about creating a more sustainable and equitable food system, both locally and globally, and upholds a zero-food waste approach when it comes to baking. She holds a B.S. in Baking & Pastry Arts and Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University.
