Grace Farms will welcome the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth for a seasonal concert on Thursday, Dec. 7. The eight-voice group has studied with masters from singing traditions around the world, continually expanding its singing vocabulary with techniques like Georgian singing, Korean P’ansori, Hindustani music, and Persian classical singing.
Called “fiercely beautiful” by National Public Radio, the group describes itself as a vocal project dedicated to reimagining the expressive potential of the human voice. Founded in 2009, the group meets annually at MASS MoCA. The Boston Globe described Roomful of Teeth, saying “Experiment may be this group’s calling card, but its essence is pure joy.”
The Season of Light Concert will celebrate the joy of the holiday season with a special set of songs developed at Grace Farms. The concert will take place in the Sanctuary at Grace Farms, 365 Lukes Wood Road, New Canaan, on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 7:30-9:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $40 in advance ($50 at the door); $20 for students and seniors.
