As a member of the Grace Farms Education Team, Tomie facilitates meaningful and engaging experiences with visitors, introducing them to the work and impact of Grace Farms Foundation locally and globally. In her role, she builds community and relationships with new visitors and continues to foster relationships with longtime supporters of Grace Farms. Tomie interacts with visitors throughout Grace Farms, including the Pavilion, where she helps visitors learn more about the Foundation’s work by sharing a cup of ethically and sustainably-made tea.
Her Japanese heritage, passion for education, and curiosity about the world led her to pursue becoming a licensed high school teacher. In the U.S., Tomie has been an educator for 30 years; she has also earned certifications in tea ceremony, flower arranging, and dance and has undertaken further training in pastoral care in education. In addition, she has served as the vice-president of an educational institute, overseeing all school operations, as well as coaching thousands of students and their families to help them achieve success in their academic and life pursuits.
