Monica joined the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute in 2020 and is part of the Institute’s Leadership Team running the Cradle to Cradle Certified Program. Monica manages a team of sector experts, including in the built environment, that support the almost 600 companies in the certification-holder community to advance safe, circular and socially responsible products and manufacturing operations. A purpose-driven sustainability expert, Monica has worked across industry sectors to design and implement collaborative initiatives on sustainable chemistry and circular economy. She served as co-director and director of collaborative innovation for the Green Chemistry & Commerce Council where she led industry collaborations on green chemistry innovation with major building product companies and consumer product brands, retailers and chemical suppliers and created a green chemistry startup network and pitch event. Monica has worked for over 30 years in technical and policy-related sustainability positions in the chemical industry, consulting, academia and in government. She has published widely on a range of technical, economic and policy topics in sustainability and is a thought-leader, speaking at conferences and webinars internationally. She holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering and Masters degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Technology & Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
