Hayes Slade, AIA, believes in the catalytic potential of design for people, communities, and societies. Her work spans scales, designing and delivering projects that are innovative and impactful: her smallest project was a doghouse that won an AIA National Small Project Award and her largest an eight acre Staten Island Masterplan. She co-founded Slade Architecture in 2002, with her partner,, James Slade. In order to contribute to the public realm, Slade Architecture has been part of the NYC Design Excellence Program for over ten years. Additionally, Hayes serves as an Architecture Fellow with Design Trust for Public Space, the advisory committee for FIT Interior Design program, the advisory board of Madame Architect and the working group of Design for Freedom and the board of Grace Farms Foundation. Hayes has been actively involved with the NY chapter of the American Institute of Architecture and served as AIANY President in 2019.
