Program Description

Well before the COVID-19 crisis took over our daily lives, the CDC, law enforcement, and service providers across the country had sounded the alarm on the persistently high number of domestic violence cases in the United States.

This zoom webinar explores the importance of cross-sector collaboration in the prevention of domestic violence – highlighting local, national, and global partnerships across the legal, health, and service provider sectors. Presenters also speak to the current environment, reflecting on resources and best practices to ensure continuity of support for victims during a pandemic and measures to better prepare communities in the future.

Panelists

Alina Reynolds, General Counsel and Justice Initiative Senior Advisor for Grace Farms Foundation

Margaret Groban, National Domestic Violence Coordinator for the Department of Justice

Karen Jarmoc, CEO of the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV)

Kalliope Mingeirou, Chief of the Ending Violence Against Women Section at UN Women
