Garden Workshop | Garden Harvest for Donation

Saturday, August 17, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Step into the Community Garden to learn harvest techniques while picking summer vegetables, fruits, and herbs for donation to our local food relief partner, Person to Person. This harvesting experience brings you up-close to native flowering plants that provide food for our foraging bees and includes a honey tasting and cup of iced tea.

Gardening Workshops invite you to explore sustainable, native-friendly, and eco-conscious practices that can benefit plants, animals, and the planet. Each hands-on workshop, designed to align with the season, is for all levels of experience and led by Grace Farms Master Gardener Lauren Elliott.

Lauren Elliott has more than 20 years of gardening experience. At Grace Farms, she facilitates experiential gardening classes, daily educational talks, and meadow walks. She also offers field training to students in the Master Gardener Extension program sponsored by UConn’s College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources.
