DESCRIPTION:With the health and safety of our visitors\, staff\, and community in mind\, Grace Farms temporarily closed to the public on March 9 and remains closed. All programs scheduled during this time will be cancelled or rescheduled. \nAlthough Grace Farms is temporarily closed\, the work of Grace Farms Foundation continues.  \nThe Grace Farms Relief Fund for Connecticut\, which was established with private donations totaling $2.5 million\, to address the critical shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for health care workers in Fairfield and New Haven counties. Grace Farms Foundation has also organized the Grace Farms Alliance Against COVID-19\, an effort comprised of more than half a dozen partner organizations to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. \nLearn more about what we are doing to help serve our community during this time and our COVID-19 response effort. \n\n  \nJoin us as Faith Initiative Director\, Dr. Matthew Croasmun\, introduces selections from the Faith & Meaning section of the Grace Farms Library. Spanning multiple religious and philosophical traditions\, both ancient and contemporary\, these texts encourage us to think critically about the meaning in our lives. \n  \n

A book about spiritually-motivated women of all faiths who are changing the world as leaders in the public arena\, our discussion will examine the impact that faith and powerful leadership can have on our society. \n  \nAbout the book | God’s Troublemakers: How Women of Faith are Changing the World\nAvailable to purchase or borrow from the Grace Farms Library \nGod’s Troublemakers is a book about women who are changing the world as leaders in the public arena and whose work is religiously or spiritually motivated. They are “socio-ethical entrepreneurs\,” who have invented organizations or movements to “repair the world.” They are Christians\, Jews\, and Muslims. Henderson interviews\, among others\, Sr. Helen Prejean\, the anti-death-penalty activist; Ruth Messigner\, former Manhattan Borough President and now executive director of the American Jewish World service; and Helen LaKelly Hunt\, who has been a national activist funding women’s causes.
