DESCRIPTION:With the health and safety of our visitors\, staff\, and community in mind\, Grace Farms has temporarily closed to the public as of March 9 and remains closed. All events and programs scheduled during that time are cancelled or will be rescheduled for a later date. \nDue to the temporary closure\, we are unable to host the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course at Grace Farms. \nWe invite you to explore an online option for the course that will be offered directly with our partner Copper Beech Institute.  The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course begins on April 9 in an online format and Copper Beech would be thrilled to welcome you! Click here to learn more and register. Additionally\, Copper Beech Institute is also offering free\, live resources each day to support you through these challenging and stressful times. \nAlthough Grace Farms is temporarily closed\, the work of Grace Farms Foundation continues through our work to serve the needs of our community during these challenging times. Learn more about our work to donate food to our neighbors in New Canaan and surrounding communities. \nWe look forward to re-opening as soon as possible and welcoming you to future Open Arts Studio programs. This course is open to people at any level of contemplative experience\, including beginners. \n  \nBenefits of MBSR include: \n\n\n\nIncreased well-being and happiness\nLess stress and anxiety\nStrengthened immune system\nLess emotional reactivity\nGreater focus and cognitive flexibility\nGreater empathy and compassion\nLasting decreases in physical and psychological symptoms\nReductions in pain levels and an enhanced ability to cope with pain\n\n\n\n  \nYour registration includes the full 8-week course\, held from 7 – 9:30 pm on Wednesdays from April 1 through May 20\, with a full-day retreat held on Saturday\, May 9 from 10 am – 5 pm. An orientation via video conference call will be held prior to the start of the course on Wednesday\, March 18 at 7 pm. \n  \nAs part of our commitment to support those on the front lines of service\, a discounted rate is available for individuals working with not-for-profit organizations. All events and programs scheduled during that time are cancelled or will be rescheduled for a later date. \nThere has been no known case of COVID-19 connected to Grace Farms; however\, we feel it is important to take preventative measures to the extent possible and do what we can to help ensure the health and safety of all at Grace Farms. \nDue to the temporary closure\, we are postponing the Movement & Meditation Workshop. \nAlthough Grace Farms is temporarily closed\, the work of Grace Farms Foundation continues. Learn more about what we are doing to help serve our community during this time. \nWe look forward to re-opening as soon as possible and welcoming you to future programs. \n\nGirls\, ages 8-13\, are invited to an interactive workshop\, led by wellness expert Pilin Anice\, guiding them through mindfulness\, self-expression\, and discovering the power of themselves and their communities. \n  \nAbout Pilin Anice \nPilin Anice\, RYT 500\, E-RYT 200\, is a yoga\, dance\, and meditation instructor\, wellness expert\, and model. Passionate about helping others connect to their highest self\, she has guided students of all ages in the sacred movements of yoga and dance through a range of workshops and classes for over a decade. \nPilin has studied with masters of West African dance\, Dunham Technique\, and African Diasporic dances of Haiti\, Cuba\, and Brazil for nearly 20 years. A Kripalu trained yoga instructor\, Anice has appeared on Good Morning America\, The Today Show\, BET/CentricTV\, and YogaXpress. Known for infusing joy and connection in her classes\, she teaches internationally at locations like the Omega Institute\, 1440 Multiversity\, Dubai Yoga Fest\, and SoulFEST.
