Join us in the Sanctuary this July for a summer blues concert featuring King Solomon Hicks, a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and composer hailing from Harlem, New York.
Continuing throughout the year, our musical moment concert series began in February with a winter jazz performance by multi-instrumentalist, Irwin Hall.
King Solomon Hicks is a blues guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and composer from Harlem, NY. He won the 2021 Blues Music Awards for Best Emerging Artist for his debut album, Harlem (2020), produced by Grammy Award-winner Kirk Yano.
Solomon was WXPN’s “Artist To Watch” for August 2020. He has performed on KISS Kruise V, and Joe Bonamassa’s Blues Alive at Sea. He has shared the stage with Tony Bennett, Jeff Beck, Ringo Starr, Beth Hart, George Thorogood & the Destroyers, Mavis Staples, and Robert Cray, among others.
A member of the Blues Foundation in Memphis, Solomon has judged the International Blues Challenge and is a supporter of young musicians and The Blues Foundation. He has taught music for the Children’s Aid Society, working with the Harlem Arts Alliance and the New York City Jazzmobile.
