DESCRIPTION:Make a one-of-a-kind holiday wreath from living plants and other natural materials with the Grace Farms Garden Team. \n\nNature Workshops invite adults of all experience to learn about the various cultural practices that rely on nature\, including flower bouquets\, the impact of seeds\, permaculture\, and holiday décor. \nPlease arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshop begins. \nAbout Kimberly Kelly\n \nGrace Farms Director of Horticulture\, Kimberly Kelly\, brings over 25 years of experience to Grace Farms. During her career\, she has fostered inclusive and meaningful ways to connect the public to the natural world\, through horticulture\, ecology\, and regenerative land-use practices using both formal and informal educational programs. \nKimberly currently serves as member of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Master Gardener Association and is the President of the Board of Director of the International Association of Butterfly Exhibitors and Suppliers. She has also served on local and statewide land-use boards including Inland Wetlands and Water Course Commission and the Connecticut Association of Conservation and Inland Wetlands Commission. Kimberly has worked for leading educational and conservation organizations including the University of Connecticut’s (UCONN) Cooperative Extension System where she was a Master Gardener Coordinator and Instructor\, as well as the State Junior Master Gardener Coordinator. She was the Horticultural Director at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) at Goodwin State Forest’s Education and Conservation Center before moving on to the Connecticut Science Center where she was the Horticulture and Butterfly Encounter Manager. Her experience ranges from designing and managing large and small ecological landscapes\, green roof systems\, tropical greenhouses filled with butterflies\, and creating and delivering environmental educational programs for all age groups. \nShe has earned numerous certifications including Pace University’s Land Use Leadership Alliance (LULA) and University of Connecticut’s Advanced Master Gardener certification.

No intermission. Doors open at 1 pm. \nTickets include entry to the Grace Farms Holiday Market\, a special pop-up featuring a curated selection of meaningful gifts that give back. Discover handmade ornaments and embroidered works by Nasreen Sheikh and the Empowerment Collective\, supporting dignified work for women artisans worldwide. \n  \nAbout Broadway Inspirational Voices\nBroadway Inspirational Voices is a diverse choir and service organization powered by Broadway artists using music to inspire hope and change lives. \nIn 1994 more than 32\,000 people died from AIDS or AIDS-related complications in the U.S. Many of those deaths came from within the Broadway community. As Broadway grappled with the loss of an entire generation of artists\, Tony and Grammy-nominated Michael McElroy (founder of the Broadway Inspirational Voices) saw in the community a profound need for hope\, unity\, and inspiration. He envisioned an organization where professional artists would come together and volunteer their gift to provide comfort\, joy\, and the promise of a better day–and as a result\, The Broadway Gospel Choir was born. This magical synergy of authentic Gospel soul and Broadway bravura was re-imagined as the Broadway Inspirational Voices in 1999 and they have been the theatre community’s center of support and celebration ever since. In 2019\, The Tony Awards Administration Committee presented the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre to four outstanding contributors to the Broadway industry\, and Broadway Inspirational Voices was a recipient. For others\, it’s a nourishing beverage perfect for sipping while on-the-go. \nJoin Tea Expert Frank Kwei for a deep dive into the differences between Eastern and Western tea culture and practice. As you taste a range of tea varietals from across the globe\, learn about the tea itself\, the distinct wares in which it’s served\, how it’s presented\, and more. \nJourney Into the World of Tea is a tranquil and in-depth exploration of tea offering guests a taste of different notable varietals from cultures around the world\, examples of demonstrations\, and more. \nAbout Frank Kwei\nFrank Kwei welcomes the public with a simple cup of tea and invites them into a deeper appreciation of the intentionality of SANAA’s architecture and the impact of the Foundation’s work to advance good in the world. Before joining Grace Farms\, Frank co-founded and managed a boutique tea company based in Brooklyn\, New York\, and spent several years focused on the sourcing and supply chains for tea ingredients. Frank has brought that experience to the Foundation’s work on ethical and sustainable supply chains across sectors\, including tea\, coffee\, food\, and architecture.

During the tour\, sample a cup of tea from Grace Farms Tea & Coffee\, a Certified B Corp that demonstrates and educates about ethical and sustainable supply chains. \nThe River building\, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning firm\, SANAA\, holds LEED Gold certification for Building Design and Construction. A demonstration of our continuing efforts to be as sustainable as possible\, in 2024\, we were awarded Gold certification for Building Operations and Maintenance\, building on our LEED Silver certification in 2019. \nThe River building was awarded the prestigious 2014/2015 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP)\, in addition to the AIA National 2017 Architecture Honor Award and AIA Connecticut 2016 Design Honor Award. \nApproved for AIA CES 1.5 LU

DESCRIPTION:Families are invited to play\, build\, deconstruct\, reimagine\, and discover the life cycle of everyday materials in our built environment with our education team. Inspired by materials in the exhibit With Every Fiber: Pigment\, Stone\, Glass\, families can explore the unique properties of these materials and use their imaginations to create new applications for them. \nOnOctober 11\, 2025\, Grace Farms unveiled a new iteration of the With Every Fiber exhibit\, which offers insights into forced labor in the building materials supply chain. A portion of With Every Fiber was adapted and included in the Intelligens CANON at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia\, curated by Carlo Ratti\, open through November 2025. \nMaterials Studio is for ages 4 – 11 with adult caregivers. This is free and included with daily registration.
