This series is designed for teens and adults and hosted by Grace Farms Horticulture Director Kimberly Kelly. \nKimberly Kelly has over 25 years of experience facilitating and educating communities about horticulture and ecology (nature conservation). Formerly at UCONN Extension\, CT DEEP and the CT Science Center\, she is a UConn Advanced Master Gardener\, serves as President of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Butterfly Exhibitors and Suppliers\, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Master Gardener Association.

This six-part series is led by Tea Expert and Educator\, Frank Kwei.\n\n\nFrank Kwei welcomes the public with a simple cup of tea and invites them into a deeper appreciation of the intentionality of SANAA’s architecture and the impact of the Foundation’s work to advance good in the world.\n\nBefore joining Grace Farms\, Frank co-founded and managed a boutique tea company based in Brooklyn\, New York\, and spent several years focused on the sourcing and supply chains for tea ingredients. Frank has brought that experience to the Foundation’s work on ethical and sustainable supply chains across sectors\, including tea\, coffee\, food\, and architecture.

SANAA and Grace Farms were awarded the prestigious 2014/2015 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP). This season\, the studio takes inspiration from the innovative materials and processes developed by our partners at the Yale Center for Ecosystems + Architecture (CEA)\, whose work is featured in our new With Every Fiber exhibit. \nWith Every Fiber features an installation by Yale CEA made from sustainable materials and developed by farmers from Japan to Mexico. This installation is the inspiration for these exciting and new hands-on family activities including bark cloth\, wool felt\, cane webbing\, and more! \nThis is a drop-in program for ages 4 and older with adult caregivers.

DESCRIPTION:Step into the airy Court\, a space filled with natural light\, for a movement class designed for all levels led by Pilin Anice\, a renowned yoga\, dance\, and meditation instructor\, as well as faculty member at Kripalu and Ailey Extension. \nEach class emphasizes a different characteristic of wellness in movement that complements a tea from Grace Farms Tea & Coffee\, a public benefit LLC and a Certified B Corp. There will be a caffeine-free substitute available for the caffeinated teas. Teas available include: \nMay & November: Rise\nJune & December: Shine\nJuly: Revive\, a naturally invigorating blend of yerba mate\, green tea\, and guayusa\nAugust: Breathe\, a stimulating fusion of anti-inflammatory adaptogens including turmeric\, ginger\, and cinnamon\nSeptember: Settle\, a soothing mix of chocolatey cacao shells and refreshing peppermint \nParticipants may bring their own mats\, towels\, props\, and water.
