Take in 360–degree views of the surrounding landscapes while exploring the building’s sustainable design\, curated interiors\, and materials choices. During the tour\, sample a cup of tea from Grace Farms Tea & Coffee\, a Certified B Corp that demonstrates and educates about ethical and sustainable supply chains. \nThe River building\, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning firm\, SANAA\, holds LEED Gold certification for Building Design and Construction. A demonstration of our continuing efforts to be as sustainable as possible\, in 2024\, we were awarded Gold certification for Building Operations and Maintenance\, building on our LEED Silver certification in 2019. \nThe River building was awarded the prestigious 2014/2015 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP)\, in addition to the AIA National 2017 Architecture Honor Award and AIA Connecticut 2016 Design Honor Award. \nApproved for AIA CES 1.5 LU

DESCRIPTION:Join instructor Jane Krantz for a fluid yoga class centered on moving through transitions with grace and finding stability in order to move with freedom\, awareness\, and expression. Starting with grounding breathwork\, Jane will guide you through movement that will ignite a little bit of heat and a lot of joy\, ending in a restful savasana. \nPlease note\, Move with Grace Farms x lululemon will be held outdoors June\, July\, and August\, and are subject to cancellation due to rain. In the event of rain\, classes will be cancelled and refunded. \nAbout Move with Grace Farms x lululemon\nMove with Grace Farms x lululemon is a series of monthly movement classes hosted in partnership with local lululemon ambassadors. These classes\, for all levels of experience\, focus on restoring and igniting the energy needed to live a more balanced life. To enhance the wellness experience\, each class includes a cup of tea from Grace Farms Tea & Coffee\, a Certified B Corp\, picked specifically to complement the movement. \nAbout Jane Krantz\nJane Krantz founded Afterglow Yoga Studio in 2020 with the intention to create a laid-back space for yoga and wellness. Since opening\, the studio has expanded twice with a wonderful\, ever-growing community of movers. Jane is certified in Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga\, and is currently training for her Katonah Yoga certification. \nBefore diving into yoga\, Jane spent her life studying and embodying movement through dance. She graduated from The Hartt School\, University of Hartford in 2015 with a BFA in Dance Performance\, spending the following years dancing professionally. Most notably\, she performed at the Museo Soumaya in Mexico City; Scotland’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival; and Comedy Central’s “Funny or Die” Tour. Jane currently teaches at her alma mater\, The Hartt School\, where she is a Professor of Jazz Dance and a Choreographer for Hartt’s mainstage productions.

DESCRIPTION:This 15-minute pop-up talk introduces the Caterpillar Compass\, an interactive field guide bringing families with young visitors on an outdoor adventure to discover the incredible lives of caterpillars and butterflies. \nCaterpillar Compass\, which comes with a compass and booklet\, guides visitors around the natural landmarks that shelter butterflies and caterpillars. At special stopping points\, the guide offers prompts where children can write\, draw\, or talk to a friend about what they see. \nYou can also pick up a self-guided booklet at the Noticing Nature pop-up talk in the Commons. \nCaterpillar Compass is available as a private and guided tour for groups upon request. To request a group tour\, please email tours@gracefarms.org. \nAbout Pop-up Talks\nPop-up talks are led by Grace Farms Education Team members and designed to scale for all ages and levels of experience. Stroll through the vegetable beds to discover ways to overwinter plants and learn about the variety of cover crops that can aid in preparing the garden for next year. \nLearning with Nature\nSee nature at work with Kimberly Kelly\, Director of Horticulture. Through guided walks\, Garden visits\, and indoor instruction\, connect with the purpose of the ecosystems we inhabit\, the vibrant life that’s a part of it\, and our role in maintaining and adding to it. This summer\, Kimberly Kelly brings us meaningful ways to connect with the natural world by teaching participants to plant gardens\, manage beehives\, notice the life of butterflies and dragonflies\, and increase biodiversity in the landscape.
