She also hosts food history pop-up talks for daily visitors throughout the week and teaches culinary fundamentals during educational programming throughout the year. Her focus areas include fostering local food sustainability and creating a more sustainable and equitable food system on a local and global scale. She upholds a zero-food waste approach and often partners with the Grace Farms Community Garden to feature seasonal produce in her confections.

DESCRIPTION:This Winter Passport Week\, decorate delicious winter-inspired cookies with the entire family. Cookies will be provided by Pastry Chef and Educator Leah Jones. \n  \nAbout Chef Leah Jones\n \nLeah Jones brings more than 10 years of food service and culinary experience to her role as Grace Farms Pastry Chef and Educator. \nShe leads recipe research and development for all baking and pastry programs and is responsible for the daily output of all freshly made baked goods\, including those provided during special events and visits from community or partner organizations. She also hosts food history pop-up talks for daily visitors throughout the week and teaches culinary fundamentals during educational programming throughout the year. Her focus areas include fostering local food sustainability and creating a more sustainable and equitable food system on a local and global scale. She upholds a zero-food waste approach and often partners with the Grace Farms Community Garden to feature seasonal produce in her confections.

Take in 360–degree views of the surrounding landscapes while exploring the building’s sustainable design\, curated interiors\, and materials choices. During the tour\, sample a cup of tea from Grace Farms Tea & Coffee\, a Certified B Corp that demonstrates and educates about ethical and sustainable supply chains. \nThe River building\, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning firm\, SANAA\, holds LEED Gold certification for Building Design and Construction. A demonstration of our continuing efforts to be as sustainable as possible\, in 2024\, we were awarded Gold certification for Building Operations and Maintenance\, building on our LEED Silver certification in 2019. \nThe River building was awarded the prestigious 2014/2015 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP)\, in addition to the AIA National 2017 Architecture Honor Award and AIA Connecticut 2016 Design Honor Award. \nApproved for AIA CES 1.5 LU

Start with a dynamic warm up and stretch followed by a full body workout targeting muscle groups that will help you become a stronger and more powerful runner. Afterwards\, sip tea from Grace Farms Tea & Coffee with Battis\, who will lead a myth-busting discussion about running that offers tips for beginning runners\, proper nutrition for runners\, and more. \nThis class is open to all levels of fitness as well as beginner or advanced runners. \nMove with Grace Farms x lululemon is a series of monthly movement classes hosted in partnership with local lululemon ambassadors. These classes\, for all levels of experience\, focus on restoring and igniting the energy needed to live a more balanced life. To enhance the wellness experience\, each class includes a cup of tea from Grace Farms Tea & Coffee\, a Certified B Corp\, picked specifically to complement the movement. \nAbout Brittany Battis\nBrittany Battis is a nurse\, athlete\, and certified Running Coach. Her running resume includes a marathon personal best of 2 hours and 59 minutes and 17 minutes 59 seconds in the 5k. Brittany works with athletes ranging from beginner walk/runners to experienced marathoners. She provides 1:1 customized coaching built to each individual’s needs\, history\, skill level and goals and strives to not only uplift and inspire her athletes to go the distance but also guide their training in a smart\, strategic and fun way. She wears many hats as a running coach and most would say she is also a cheerleader\, friend\, mentor\, and your number one fan.
