This six-part series is led by Tea Expert and Educator\, Frank Kwei. \nFrank Kwei welcomes the public with a simple cup of tea and invites them into a deeper appreciation of the intentionality of SANAA’s architecture and the impact of the Foundation’s work to advance good in the world. Before joining Grace Farms\, Frank co-founded and managed a boutique tea company based in Brooklyn\, New York\, and spent several years focused on the sourcing and supply chains for tea ingredients. Frank has brought that experience to the Foundation’s work on ethical and sustainable supply chains across sectors\, including tea\, coffee\, food\, and architecture.

During the tour\, sample a cup of tea from Grace Farms Tea & Coffee\, a Certified B Corp that demonstrates and educates about ethical and sustainable supply chains. \nThe River building\, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning firm\, SANAA\, holds LEED Gold certification for Building Design and Construction. A demonstration of our continuing efforts to be as sustainable as possible\, in 2024\, we were awarded Gold certification for Building Operations and Maintenance\, building on our LEED Silver certification in 2019. \nThe River building was awarded the prestigious 2014/2015 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP)\, in addition to the AIA National 2017 Architecture Honor Award and AIA Connecticut 2016 Design Honor Award. \nApproved for AIA CES 1.5 LU

DESCRIPTION:Step into the light-filled Court to experience an immersive\, breath-centered yoga practice accompanied by live acoustics led by renowned mindfulness and wellness expert\, Pilin Anice. This monthly class pairs a unique movement with a cup of tea from Grace Farms Tea & Coffee\, a public benefit LLC and a Certified B Corp\, for an enhanced whole body wellness experience. The tea inspires the movement theme\, and varies each month: \nParticipants may bring their own mats\, towels\, props\, and water. \nAbout Pilin Anice\nPilin Anice\, E-RYT 500\, is a wellness guide who believes that the disciplines of Ayurveda\, meditation and yoga\, ritual\, self-care\, nutrition\, and dance and drum\, allow us to reconnect to ourselves; to evolve\, heal and live authentically. Through her offerings\, she has guided students to find their way back to the wisdom of their own bodies\, and the joy that is the essence of their being. \nPilin is passionate about building community and looks to cultivate non-judgemental spaces where everyone can be seen and heard\, and move freely and wholly. A graduate of Howard University and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition\, she is on faculty at Kripalu\, Ailey Extension and was a lululemon Studio Trainer and Ambassador for nearly four years. She is also a Chopra Yoga Trainer\, Visiting Faculty at IIN and an Ambassador for Bayan Botanicals.

DESCRIPTION:Walk through scenic nature trails in search of migratory birds returning north after the winter. This walk\, for birdwatchers of all experience levels\, is guided by Brian O’Toole\, the Visitor Service Manager for the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. \nBrian O’Toole serves on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Ornithological Association\, . Previously\, he served as a board member for the Greenwich Audubon Society\, was the compiler for the Greenwich-Stamford Christmas Bird Count as well as the paid hawk counter for the Quaker Ridge Hawkwatch for many years. He worked as a naturalist\, camp counselor and store manager at the Greenwich Audubon Center and was a Visitor Services Manager at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo. Currently he is the Visitor Services Manager at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center in Stamford\, CT.
