A Grace Farms Educator will be in the Court Mezzanine with you to answer any bird questions! \n11 am – 12 pm\, West Barn Hall\nCreating Kindness Through Creatures \nSay hello to a diverse group of friendly animals from Animal Embassy! During this visit\, explore the power of showing kindness and respect to all living things and learn the special role each creature plays in its natural environment. \n12 pm\, library\nWho’s Waking Up? with Horticulture Director Kimberly Kelly and Master Gardener Lauren Elliott \nLearn how plants\, insects\, and amphibians survived the winter\, and how you can support the local ecosystem. \n1 pm\, library\nThe Secret Life of Seeds  \nDiscover the seeds collected from ten biodiverse habitats at Grace Farms with our educator Patrice. \n1 – 3 pm\nNew Canaan Mounted Troop \nOur community partners will be joining us to talk about equine therapy. This season\, the studio takes inspiration from the innovative materials and processes developed by our partners at the Yale Center for Ecosystems + Architecture (CEA)\, whose work is featured in our new With Every Fiber exhibit. \nWith Every Fiber features an installation by Yale CEA made from sustainable materials and developed by farmers from Japan to Mexico. This installation is the inspiration for these exciting and new hands-on family activities including bark cloth\, wool felt\, cane webbing\, and more! \nThis is a drop-in program for ages 4 and older with adult caregivers. \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a photography takeover of the Art Studio! \nArchitectural photographer and Grace Farms artist-in-residence James Florio invites families to join him for a fun\, hands-on workshop focused on documenting landscape and space. Everyone will get a chance to work with a special camera to create instant Polaroid images. Recommended for ages 8-12 with an adult caregiver. \nJames Florio’s photography focuses on the built environment and the life surrounding it. He is currently working on several long-term projects documenting the unique changes of nature\, climate\, and time on architecture and landscapes. Recently\, he received the 2022 Julius Shulman Institute Excellence in Photography Awards. \nThere are two sessions with James Florio: 10:00 – 11:30 am\, and 2 – 3:30 pm
