Grace Farms Foundation has also organized the Grace Farms Alliance Against COVID-19\, an effort comprised of more than half a dozen partner organizations to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. \nLearn more about what we are doing to help serve our community during this time and our COVID-19 response effort. \n\n  \nExplore the River\, a meandering glass building designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects SANAA\, and five site-specific installations commissioned specifically for Grace Farms by artists Thomas Demand\, Olafur Eliasson\, Teresita Fernández\, Beatriz Milhazes\, and Susan Phillipsz. The tour begins with complimentary tea in the Pavilion. \nGrace Farms Tours include a substantial amount of walking\, including time outdoors between volumes of the River building\, so please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. \nPlease note that this tour accommodates 18 participants\, and reservations are accepted on a first-come\, first-served basis. \n  \n  \n

Dr. Croasmun will provide insight into the text and a framework through which to explore Weil’s book\, and will be joined in conversation by Dr. Deborah Casewell\, a Simone Weil scholar\, and lecturer in the Philosophy of Religion at Liverpool Hope University. \nOur Books on Faith & Meaning series consists of monthly presentations introducing selections from the Faith & Meaning section of the Grace Farms Library. Spanning multiple religious and philosophical traditions\, both ancient and contemporary\, these texts encourage us to think critically about the meaning in our lives. \n

SUMMARY:Birdwatching at Grace Farms | Fall Migration
DESCRIPTION:Search for autumn’s birdlife during a walk through Grace Farms’ walking trails with Master Birder Frank Mantlik and Grace Farms Foundation’s Nature Initiative Director\, Mark Fowler. Participants of all ages and experience levels are invited to learn more about our local natural world and discover the more than 85 species of birds that thrive on Grace Farms’ 80-acre preserve. \nWe’ll be walking on mown trails\, which may be wet\, so please wear appropriate footwear\, and dress for the weather. \n  \nFall Migration birdwatching walks are offered on Saturdays\, September 5\, September 12\, September 19\, and September 26. \n  \nFrank Mantlik \nFrank Mantlik works as a birdwatching leader for Sunrise Birding LLC (www.sunrisebirding.com). An avid birder and naturalist for over 40 years\, he has been active in many bird/nature organizations\, including the CT Ornithological Association (current vice-president\, past-president\, member CT Avian Records Committee\, bird identification workshop leader)\, CT Audubon Society (trip leader\, photo exhibits)\, New Haven Bird Club (lectures\, trip  and workshop leader)\, Saugatuck Valley Audubon Society (field trips\, lectures\, Christmas Bird Count). Also an accomplished photographer with many published credits (Audubon\, Birding\, North American Birds\, Birdwatcher’s Digest\, Field and Stream\, The New York Times). \n  \n  \n
