The evening will feature guest panelists Donna Palomba\, a survivor of sexual assault and President and Founder of Jane Doe No More\, along with Neil O’Leary\, Mayor of Waterbury and the former Waterbury Police Chief involved in the investigation of Donna’s assault. Additional panelists include Dylan Farrow\, who will speak about the 1993 investigation of her sexual assault allegations against her adoptive father\, actor and director Woody Allen\, as well as Hadar Lubin MD\, Co-Director of the Post Traumatic Stress Center in New Haven and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. \nThe panel discussion will be moderated by Rod Khattabi\, Director of Safety and Justice Initiative Advisor at Grace Farms Foundation\, and a former federal agent that has investigated a variety of federal criminal violations. \n  \nJoin us before the program for our June Community Dinner.

DESCRIPTION:Think\, play\, and create every Saturday\, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm at Grace Farms! Young artists\, ages 3 to 10\, and their adult caregivers are invited to spend time together experimenting with new materials and techniques during this facilitated program series. \nDiscover the River | From Plants to Paint \nDiscover the River building and our permanent artworks using all of your senses to explore line\, shape\, color\, texture\, sound\, space\, light\, movement\, and rhythm. Harvest colors like safflower yellow\, tansy blue\, and amaranth red by foraging for plants in the raised beds of our Community Garden\, then transform them into pigments to make paintings in the Studio. \n  \nPlease note that the materials fee is $5 per child\, payable by credit card at the West Barn Welcome Center. Parents or guardians are required to stay with their children.

Celebrating Wiman’s recently-published anthology Joy: 100 Poems—described by The Atlantic as “a luminous array of poetry and prose”—the evening includes readings from the celebrated collection\, which offers a range of meditations on this complex subject. \n  \nAbout Christian Wiman \nChristian Wiman is a poet\, author\, translator\, and former editor of Poetry magazine. Wiman is a professor of religion and literature at Yale Institute of Sacred Music and the author of eleven books\, including Hammer is the Prayer\, Every Riven Thing\, and My Bright Abyss. In 2015 he edited Grace Farms Foundation’s inaugural publication and souls are candles. \n  \nJoin us before the program for our May Community Dinner.

The evening will take place in the River building’s Commons—a 6\,900 square foot glass room appointed with social community tables built from trees harvested on the grounds\, comfortable sofas\, and a coffee bar serving our very own Heavenly Roast. \nMenu \nPea and mint soup \nLentil puff pastry pie \nRadish salad \nRhubarb strawberry hand pie with mint cream \nAs a reminder\, smoking and drinking are not permitted at Grace Farms. Once this event is sold out\, tickets will not be available at the door.
