Modern Muslim Theologywith Author Dr. Martin Nguyen

Tuesday, September 14, 2021, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

LIVE ZOOM EVENT

“Informed by his deep reading of scripture and the Islamic tradition, as well as his grounding in the academic study of religion, Nguyen offers a theology that is of interest to academics as well as to people of faith, and to those who wish to learn more about Islam regardless of their orientation.”

– Zayn Kassam, Pomona College

Join us for a conversation with Faith Initiative Director Dr. Matthew Croasmun and Dr. Martin Nguyen, Professor of Religious Studies at Fairfield University to discuss his most recent book. Modern Muslim Theology asserts that theology is a creative, ongoing process, and offers refreshingly accessible perspective on practicing the Islamic tradition in our contemporary world.

Our Books on Faith & Meaning series consists of monthly presentations introducing selections from the Faith & Meaning section of the Grace Farms Library. Spanning multiple religious and philosophical traditions, both ancient and contemporary, these texts encourage us to think critically about the meaning in our lives.
