Zero at the Bone with Christian Wiman | Reading and Conversation

Wednesday, May 8, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for a reading and conversation with author, poet, and Yale Divinity School professor Christian Wiman.

Wiman will discuss his newest book, Zero at the Bone: Fifty Entries Against Despair in a conversation moderated by Founding Director of the Yale Center for Faith & Culture, Miroslav Volf.

Wiman’s newest book makes the case against despair through fifty hopeful entries spanning poetry, theology, personal essays, and literary criticism. A long-time collaborator of Grace Farms, Wiman edited our 2015 anthology, and souls are candles, which commemorated our opening.

Christian Wiman‘s poetry has been recognized with the Ambassador Book Award, the Aiken-Taylor Prize for Modern Poetry, and three Pushcart Prizes, among others. He has written for numerous publications including the New Yorker and the New York Times Book Review. He is a former Guggenheim Fellow and holds two honorary doctorates. Since 2020, he has been the Clement-Muehl Professor of Communication Arts at the Yale Divinity School.
